January can be a bit bleak eh? but fear not, Mr Benn is back at the controls and has invited another tip top guest to help get those limbs moving once more and warm the cockles of your heart...

Step up Wrongtom, the dub specialist, Roots Manuva remixer, vinyl obsessive, genre-crossing, reggae-rooted producer, well known for his solo productions, DJ sets and collaborations and and a man who takes eclecticism to a whole new level.

From his beginnings in a jazz band, playing gigs throughout his native London and around the UK, this musical multi-tasker has made his name all over the world. His many endeavours include getting mixed up in the pop scene, including touring worldwide with Hard-Fi (which came to its illogical conclusion on stage at Wembley Arena as 10,000 perplexed indie kids listened to a selection of B-More, Shut Up & Dance and Italo House classics) and getting production credits on a UK Number 1 album. This paved the way for the success of his reggae/dub collective Stoneleigh Mountain Rockers, with whom he’s worked on projects for Trojan Records, Pama International (featuring 2 Tone luminary Lynval Golding), and the subsequent collaborative album with UK rap legend Roots Manuva on Big Dada.

In 2007 he reunited with long-time friend and creative cohort Deemas J, with whom he started that first jazz band. At the time, in his customary globetrotting fashion, Tom was remixing for Citizen Sound, a Canadian band on a German label. He got Deemas involved on vocals, and with the benefit of all the experience they had respectively racked up, their partnership took off once again to a new level. Working together again in earnest, they focused on the joint album project, ‘In East London’, which came out on Tru Thoughts to huge acclaim in 2012 under the artist name Wrongtom Meets Deemas J.

Continuing in the spirit of his series of ‘Wrongtom Meets’ projects, Wrongtom’s “Possessed EP”, decorated with an eerie Ouija board design, boasts collaborations with Tippa Irie, JC Lodge, The Ragga Twins, Desta Zion, The Correctional Horns and Deemas J as well as a bonus cut from his long-standing live reggae/dub collective the Stoneleigh Mountain Rockers.

In his latest album, ‘In Time’, Wrongtom teamed up with veteran breakbeat/jungle MC’s The Ragga Twins to take you back to the ‘80s reggae and dancehall landscape where they started out.

Being well know for boundary crossing, genre hopping sets means no one really know's what Wrongtom's gonna pull out his well love record bag, other than it will be something that makes it irresistible to stay off the dance floor and put's a smile on your face.
