KNERS / AISHA / VELOUR FALCONS

BRISTOL LABEL K-STAR presents.

"K*NERS" is the latest in a succession of musical innovators from Bristol, treading a path beaten by Wild Bunch, Massive Attack, Portishead, Tricky, Roni Size and more recently dubstep producer Joker. K*Ners started out as a ragga MC on a sound system many years ago. "I used to go to all the ragga raves.and sound clash systems people would come and play, like (Jamaican sound system hero) Tony Matterhorn, everything in Bristol stems from the sound system". This Bristolian artist has gained much respect from the music industry since releasing his debut album "K In Da Flesh" independently on his own label in 2006. K*Ners has performed with many artists like hip hop legends Sugar Hill Gang, Mos Def, GZA/Genius (Wu-Tang), Tinchy Stryder and Mark Ronson, he has been cherry picked to perform @ BBC Maida Vale sessions, and championed by BBC 1xtra K*Ners has just released his 2nd Album "Voice of the City" which features guest appearances from Sway, Roots Manuva and Kardinal Offishall.

AISHA has been singing from the age she could speak. She has been drawing her inspiration from her multicultural back ground and childhood spent in Libya and began channelling her passion into songwriting at the age of 12. Listening to singers such as erykah badu, Jill Scott and India arie injected a passion for soul and directed her sound, inspiring her to draw on her life experiences from around the world. Aisha began her journey into the industry after a chance meeting with Bristol hip hop veteran Kners after he heard her singing while stepping out of a taxi outside the black swan in Easton. She has been collaborating and performing with kners and the kstar team ever since and has been developing herself as a singer focussing on creating her own music and developing her own unique sound.

VELOUR FALCONS are Bournemouth and Windsor based rapper Cosm, Basingstoke rapper/producer Mick Swagger and Essex/Basingstoke DJ Evi Denz. When Mick and Cosm aren't firing bars off over swaggy boom bap they can be found rambling into mics as two thirds of the Shotgun the Aux podcast.
